Fill the Bus!

schoolbus

Geneva Baptist Church in Ohio has donated a refurbished 72-passenger school bus to equip our Haitian Family with transportation.  As an added bonus, we can fill the bus with much needed supplies and send it via boat to Port Au Prince as a virtual shipping container.  The bus is currently on the property of West Lawn United Methodist Church (see “Partners” page for contact information) and they are prepared to receive donations.  Here is a list of materials we know we can use:

  • Electric generators (gasoline powered).
  • Solar power equipment.
  • PC’s in good working order.  We’d like to create an internet lab for the kids.
  • Children’s books:  English, French (and if possible Creole)
  • Art supplies: crayons, markers, pencils, paper (in rolls), paints, brushes.
  • Large black boards (3 or 4) and a large assortment of chalk.
  • Large bags of rice 50-100LBS +.
  • Bulk powdered milk.
  • Vitamins.
  • Hygiene products: shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, feminine products, make-up.
  • Hair accessories.
  • Small toys and games.
  • A storage locker for sports equipment.
  • Sports equipment: especially soccer balls, uniforms, and shoes.
  • Reading glasses.
  • Children’s clothes (ages 4-17 for boys and girls) clean and in good condition.
  • Shoes  (ages 4-17 for boys and girls).
